Q429: Why Do You Use The Name Jesus Christ When This Name Did Not Exist At The Time He Was Born?

I found your website for the first time today. I have a question and hope it is ok to ask you and that you are not offended that I ask this. This is my question:

Why do you use the name Jesus Christ when this name did not exist at the time He was born? 

Mary never was told to call his name Jesus, this was changed by Constantine Emperor of Rome who wanted the Romans to accept Christianity so he could more easily control them. The letter J only came into being in the last 400 years.

WHY do you have such a fallen question? You are questioning the ONLY NAME that can save you. In addition, you are blaspheming the Holy Spirit who is the one who caused Matthew 1:20-21 to be written! The Bible Scriptures say that, even before Christ was born as a Human Being, He was prophesied to be called JESUS (Matthew 1:20-21, Acts 13:23).

His name Jesus - The name Jesus is the same as Saviour. It is derived from the verb signifying to save, In Hebrew it is the same as Joshua. In two places in the New Testament it is used where it means Joshua, the leader of the Jews into Canaan, and in our translation the name Joshua should have been retained, Act_7:45; Heb_4:8. It was a very common name among the Jews.

He shall save - This expresses the same as the name, and on this account the name was given to him. He saves people by dying to redeem them; by giving the Holy Spirit to renew them Joh_16:7-8; by His power in enabling them to overcome their spiritual enemies, in defending them from danger, in guiding them in the path of duty, in sustaining them in trials and in death; and He will raise them up at the last day, and exalt them to a world of purity and love. -- BARNES

The name JESUS is of Hebrew origin, meaning the SAVIOR or Giver of SALVATION to Mankind. This was His Name and Mission for His First Coming as the Human Savior of Mankind (Matthew 1:21, Acts 4:10, 12, Philippians 2:9-11).

For His 2nd Coming as a Spirit GOD to rule the Entire Planet Earth and the Universe as the KING of Kings and LORD of Lords, Christ Jesus will be called by another New Name (Matthew 28:18, Jeremiah 23:5-6, Revelation 3:12).
