WHAT IS THE NUMBER ONE (1) SIN, AND THE MOST DESTRUCTIVE OF ALL SINS?
If we conduct a survey in Christianity and Judaism, asking people to rank the sins of mankind according to their severity, almost all Christians and Jews would not be able to write the # 1 sin. This is very dangerous because people are not aware of this #1 sin. CAN YOU GIVE AN ANSWER?
To give you a clue, this sin is the easiest to commit, and yet it is the most destructive of all sins!

Arlene Aguilar: Breaking the first commandment in Ten Commandments of God given to Moses, even Christians are breaking the Number 1 commandment on that.
Lope Columna: Thanks, ladies! Your answers seems interesting, and you based them on the Ten Commandments, which seems obvious. But did you know that originally, there is ONLY ONE COMMANDMENT? The Ten Commandments were given only AFTER the sin of man. But before that there is only ONE COMMANDMENT. Your answers are good and close, but you don't hit the target. Let's see if others will also give their answers.

Theresa Wilkerson: OK, I think I might have it. This is from Mechanical Translation of Genesis, starting at 2:15. And YHWH (He exist) of Elohym (Powers) took the human and He caused him to be deposited in the garden of Eden (Pleasure) to sever her and to guard her, and YWHW (He exist) of Elohym (Powers) directed (commanded) upon the human saying, from all of the trees of the garden an eating you will eat, and from the tree of function and dysfunction you will not eat from him given that in the day you eat from him dying you will die. So if I understand this right Hashem is saying choose Him (life), anything other than Him is death. This is Hashems first commandment.
Theresa Wilkerson: The more I think about this there are so many levels to what He is saying, I also see protect what Elohym has given us. I see serving Him as will. I also see Him protecting us from the very beginning. So much more!!!

Stanley Castro: It is said in the Zohar that it is the most destructive of all sin. Right?
Lope Columna: Your right, Stanley! This grievous number 1 sin is called LASHON HARA in Hebrew, or EVIL SPEECH in English.
EVIL SPEECH IS THE VERY ANTITHESIS OF CREATION!
The reason why LASHON HARA or EVIL SPEECH is the most destructive of all sins is because this is the very antithesis of Creation!
We know that God created the Heavens and the Earth by means of CREATIVE SPEECH; that is, just by speaking. An speech or talk produces sound energy.
So, anyone who speaks LASHON HARA emits an EVIL or DESTRUCTIVE Sound Energy, which is of opposite polarity compared to the polarity of God's Creative Speech. Uncontrolled amplification of this destructive energy destroys the Heavens and the Earth, resulting in a destructive Climate Change!
THE VERY FIRST SIN OF MAN WAS CAUSED BY LASHON HARA (EVIL SPEECH)!
Also, the very first cause of sin, in the Garden of Eden, is the Evil Speech of the primordial Serpent. The Serpent used Evil Speech or Lashon Hara to discredit God and tempt Eve. The following scriptures are from the Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB).
- Now the serpent was the most cunning of all the wild animals that the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You can't eat from any tree in the garden'?" (Gen 3:1)
- The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat the fruit from the trees in the garden. (Gen 3:2)
- But about the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden, God said, 'You must not eat it or touch it, or you will die.'" (Gen 3:3)
- "No! You will not die," the serpent said to the woman. (Gen 3:4)
The Serpent continues:
"In fact, God knows that when you eat it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil." (Gen 3:5)
EVIL SPEECH DISQUALIFIED ALL ISRAEL TO ENTER THE PROMISED LAND, EXCEPT JOSHUA AND CALEB!
Another great example of Evil Speech or Evil Tongue is the case of the 12 spies of the Israelites. They gave an evil report, or evil speech about the Land of Promise. This evil speech discouraged the entire nation of Israel, and destroy their faith in God. So GOD declared a judgment for all Israel not to enter the Land of Israel, except Joshua and Caleb! They all died in the wilderness! All because of Evil Speech!
EVIL SPEECH OR LASHON HARA MAKES ONE RELIGION USELESS AND WORTHLESS!
- If anyone thinks he is religious, without controlling his tongue but deceiving his heart, his religion is useless. (James 1:26)
The most committed Evil Speech is the "cursing of people," or in Tagalog language, it is called "PAGMUMURA." Many people automatically commits this grievous sin when they are angry, without realizing that they are heaping upon themselves great punishments, in this world, and in the world to come!
