Q23: I READ YOUR ARTICLE ABOUT THE ERRORS AND LIES IN BIBLE TRANSLATIONS. IS THIS THE REASON WHY THERE ARE MANY RELIGIOUS CULTS SPROUTING FROM EVERYWHERE? What is Your Stand With Religious Cults?

I read your write up regarding the Bible, no question dahil nabasa ko na po yung tanong at yung sagot nyo. What is your stand with Religious Cult? Thanks.

BIBLE EXPLAINER: The common meaning of the word "CULT" today is negative, although history shows that it was not bad before. Using today's meaning of the word, "cult" means any religious group that does not have political or media acceptance.

Another meaning of "CULT", which is more accurate, is: A CULT is any religious group that deviates from the true teachings of the Bible.

We cannot find the word CULT in the Bible, and the nearest equivalent word of CULT is idol-worship or idolatry. The Catholic Church is obviously practicing idolatry with its many idol statues; and yet because it has a major political and media influence, it is not considered a cult by the world. So, this world is really confused, and one-sided.

The Bible tells us: Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but try the spirits to see if they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world (1John 4:1 MKJV).

Another is from the words of Christ Himself:
  • Take heed that no man deceive you. For many will come in My name, saying, I am Christ, and will deceive many. (Mat 24:4-5 MKJV)
Apostle Paul also warns us in 2Corinthians 11:3-4:
  • But I fear that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his cunning, your minds may be corrupted from a complete and pure devotion to Christ. (2Cor 11:3).
  • For if a person comes and preaches another Jesus, whom we did not preach, or you receive a different spirit, which you had not received, or a different gospel, which you had not accepted, you put up with it splendidly! (2Co 11:4 HCSB)
So, the above verses are saying that a "CULT" is any religious group or church that is deceived, and is practicing idolatry, whether it is popular or not, whether it is accepted by the world, or not, whether it is a church of millions of members, or just a few. The Biblical keyword definition of "CULT" is IDOLATRY and DECEPTION.

Yes, the Bible translations that Christians are using today are covered with errors and lies (Jeremiah 8:8-9). And this a major reason why many religious cults exist today, using the Bible wrapped in errors and falsehood of men.

QUESTIONER: Thanks for the answer, now I know na Religious Cult nga ang nasalihan ko before.

COMMENTS

Lope Columna There are people who says there are lots of contradictions in the Bible. But one thing is sure: the writers of the Bible never contradicts each other; they complements each other. The problem is in the readers, as well as, in the translations of the Bible. Remember that the Bibles being used by people today are just translations, not the original Bible. In the process of translations, truths are removed and/or replaced. Also, there is that TIME factor of Bible understanding. The Bible verses can be understood only in the right time intended by God to reveal. This is the case of the Book of Daniel, that although God allowed Daniel to write his prophecies, yet the understanding of those prophecies are not given to Daniel, because God said that the revelations of those prophecies are reserved only in the END-TIME (Dan 12:8-9).

Kendall Anderson and Armando Madrid like this.

Armando Madrid Only by God's revelation could we understand the holy scriptures.
