Noel Fabregas Lorenzo On the contrary Ka Lope, if you will give a careful look at those New Testament verses you quoted, (Luke 18:11-12, Matthew 23:23, Luke 11:42, and Matthew 5:20) Jesus was not teaching here about tithing, but on the condition of how love is working in one's heart. Being so consciously careful about tithing doesn't show exactly one's love for God and how one extend love to his/her fellow human beings. In fact, those verses show how Jesus admonished the Pharisees for being so consciously careful in their tithing and yet neglect to extend help to their fellowmen in need.
Under the New Testament, "generosity" is the emphasis in giving, "Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should GIVE WHAT YOU HAVE DECIDED IN YOUR HEART TO GIVE, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." (2 Corinthians 9:6-7)

Remember, that those words were uttered by Jesus while he was still alive and therefore the New Testament dispensation was not yet in application. I'm now on my senior years and lavishly enjoying God's blessings in my twilight years! But still, I don't consider this on account of my generous giving & charitable efforts to help the poor & needy.
