Q115: WHAT CAN I DO? MY SEXUAL DESIRES ARE OVERWHELMING. Maybe, Because I Was Abused as A Kid And Grew Up in A Dysfunctional Family.

QUESTIONS: Me, myself am struggling with my relationships to women. I am a 43-year old male and sober alcoholic. I use online pornography from time to time and used to frequent whores, a lot before I was Christian, but already clean and sober.

I am not married. What can I do? If I don't marry, what could be a livable solution for my sex life? I am not sure if I am able to marry on an emotional level; my relationships till now were disasters.

I want to be a good honest Christian, but still the question how I can live my life according to the Bible. My desires are overwhelming. This also might be so strong because I was abused as a kid and grew up in a dysfunctional family.

ANSWER: Your unfortunate past as a kid, and your dysfunctional family background are already history. What you can do is to learn good and bad lessons from them. Throw away the bad and copy the good. Bad examples can clearly show you the good. Just do the opposite of the bad, and you can turn the bad into good. Of course, we must always seek the help and guidance of our God The Father to be successful.
